New Lens: The Golden Ratio

Golden Ratio
The niche idea about the golden ratio just came to me, so I thought I would do some keyword research and found a few long tail keywords that have very little competition.  I knew that I needed to finish the lens quickly, since it was the end of the month and Squidoo does not give you any credit for the month in which your lens is created.

I have placed a link to my golden ratio lens on to Squidu, but I am holding off from putting it on StumbleUpon until July, since I should see a nice run-up with folks coming from SquidU to my lens.

Repaired My Mitt Romney Mormon Lens

Mitt Romney Mormon
My Mitt Romney LDS lens was unpublished by Squidoo a week ago and I finally go around to making some changes to it.  I took a look at the Google Keyword Tool to see if there might be more keywords for which I could optimize the lens.  I did find a few easy to rank keywords (I hope!) and added them to the lens.  I also made a change in the title, adding a few more keywords.

I am hopeful that these changes will make the lens succeed.  I think that with the Presidential election on the way, this lens could do pretty well.

Happy National Sunglasses Day 2012!

Sunglasses Day
Today is National Sunglasses Day!  Every year on June 27 we can celebrate sunglasses for all that they are.  They alone have made people look cool and rise to stardom.  Singers, like Corey Hart, became one hit wonders singing about them.  Who can forget Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator or Tom Cruise in Risky Business.

Of course, I wrote a lens on National Sunglasses Day, so go ahead an click the link above!

New Lens: NoFollow Links

NoFollow
I finally finished another Squidoo lens called NoFollow Backlinks - my first since my Star Parker Biography lens.  It seemed like a good theme, since the Google Panda and Penguin updates really did a job on those internet marketers who had focused solely on dofollow backlinking.

I have shared the lens on Stumbleupon, Digg and Delicous and on SquidU, in their recent lens thread.  I think that it will do well, but you never know.

Gigantic Day For Katie Pavlich

Katie Pavlich Fast and Furious
One bit of news and lens visits go through the roof!  Yesterday, the Senate oversight committee voted to find Eric Holder in contempt for the Fast and Furious investigation.  Katie Pavlich literally wrote the book on the Fast and Furious debacle.

Once the contempt charges were made public, visits to my lens on Katie increased a ton.  In fact, I received over 500 visits yesterday alone and am on my way to well over 100 lens visits today.  I am now trying to get a few more backlinks for my best keywords to see if I can rank 1st in Google for them.  I can't imagine how many visits I would have gotten, if I would have ranked first.

My Katie Pavlich lens has now moved into the top 10,000.  Hopefully, I can keep moving up, so that my average for the month was within that top ten thousand.

April 2012 Squidoo Earnings

Sorry for my late post on my Squidoo earnings, but I ended up vacationing in Hawaii with my family and had very little time to get on the computer.

Overall, I had my second best month ever on Squidoo!  I only made more during a month where I made a pretty significant Amazon sale, which did not occur this time, so, in reality, my Squidoo earnings for April 2012 is trending upwards.  I am hopeful that my May earnings were even higher - I am pretty sure that they will be.
Squidoo Earnings

I made $12.51 in April from these lenses:

High PR Backlinks ($8.53)
High Quality Backlinks  ($2.55)
Free Social Bookmarking Sites  ($0.58)
Gold Bulova Watches for Women  ($0.43)
Get Instant Backlinks  ($0.43)

Not a great month, but things are really starting to look up, as I have several lenses that are now in the top 80,000 and three that are in the coveted top 10,000 lenses.

Doing Pretty Well With Keyword Research

Keyword Research
I seem to be doing pretty well with keyword research, since many of the new Squidoo lenses that I have been creating have been moving up the SERPs pretty quickly.  My Who Is Wayne Dyer lens is now on the 2nd page after hovering on page 10 for a couple of weeks.  My Bastille Day lenses are on the second page, except for Bastille Day Milwaukee, which is on page one.  I have not yet moved into #1 position, so I have not seen a huge influx of traffic, like I get for my top two lenses, but as the lenses age, I am hopeful that they will continue to move up the SERPs.  I will also continue to create backlinks to them.
