Doing Pretty Well With Keyword Research

Keyword Research
I seem to be doing pretty well with keyword research, since many of the new Squidoo lenses that I have been creating have been moving up the SERPs pretty quickly.  My Who Is Wayne Dyer lens is now on the 2nd page after hovering on page 10 for a couple of weeks.  My Bastille Day lenses are on the second page, except for Bastille Day Milwaukee, which is on page one.  I have not yet moved into #1 position, so I have not seen a huge influx of traffic, like I get for my top two lenses, but as the lenses age, I am hopeful that they will continue to move up the SERPs.  I will also continue to create backlinks to them.

New Lens: Star Parker Biography

Just finished up another lens, since I am going on vacation and will not be able to make another lens for over a week.  I continued with my female conservatives theme and created a lens about Star Parker.  I have made similar lenses about Lila Rose, Pamela Geller and Rachel Marsden.

Star Parker biography
I think that the Squidoo lens should do well, as the keywords that I am optimizing for are not that competitive with the obvious main keyword being Star Parker Biography.

New Lens: Traffic Travis Review

Traffic Travis Review
Since Squidoo doesn't pay for the traffic that you produce to your lens during the month in which your lens is published, I have decided to focus on sales lenses now.  Unlike Sunglasses Day this lens is all about sales of a Clickbank item that I have titled Traffic Travis Review.

Sine I have done very well on the SEO type of lenses, I thought that this lens would fit in pretty nicely.  My lenses, Free Do Follow Backlinks and High Quality Backlinks, should be able to drive some decent traffic to the lens, along with SEO.

New Lens: National Sunglasses Day

Sunglasses Day
It took up the Squidoo quest to create a lens for a wacky or offbeat June holiday, since there was 200 points in it for me - Sunglasses Day seemed to be the most interesting, little competition and some side benefit of possible Amazon sales on sunglasses.

National sunglasses day is on June 27 every year.  I tried to optimize my lens for sunglasses day, but also some low competition long tail keywords around sunglasses.  I think that I did a decent job and I hope that Google gets the lens crawled quickly and gets it ranked, so that I can see some traffic and get some Amazon sales.  Since the lens was created in June, I know that I won't get paid for the traffic.

Remember, wear your sunglasses on National Sunglasses Day on June 27 - even at night!

New Lens: Notre Dame Jerseys

I decided to keep the Notre Dame theme going and published a new Squidoo lens titled Notre Dame Jerseys.  This lens is a sales lens, unlike my other three ND lenses:  ND SMC Observer, Notre Dame Football News and 2010 Notre Dame Recruits.
Notre Dame Jerseys

There is quite a bit more competition for the keyword, so I have been a bit more lenient on the number of long tail keywords that I have used in the initial text box - deciding to go all out with jersey numbers, types, sports, et al.

My hope is that the lens has time to rank with Google with multiple keywords throughout the summer, so that it is ready for the NCAA football season.

Squidoo Lens Repair Gone Wrong?

Squidoo Lens Repair
I thought that I was making a smart decision changing up my Free Instant Backlinks Generator lens a bit.  I changed the title from "Thousands of Backlinks Instantly Generated" to "Get and Build Instant Backlinks - Generators, Submitter and Lists".  I am hoping that Google crawls the lens pretty soon or it will have been a Squidoo lens repair gone very, very wrong.

As of now, I have no visits to the lens, when there normally are at least a few.  Hopefully my other lenses, Free DoFollow Backlinks and High Quality Backlinks, can deliver enough traffic to keep the lens in Tier 3.  I might have to rethink how I conduct my Squidoo lens repairs in the future.

New Lens: ND Observer

Hot off the press is a new lens that I put together about the University of Notre Dame school and student newspaper, The Observer.  I have been trying to get to a third and a fourth lens about ND to go along with Notre Dame football recruiting and 2010 ND football recruits, so that more traffic can flow through them.
ND SMC Student Newspaper

I probably should have thought about doing this lens on the ND SMC Observer, when school was in session, but it will give the lens some time to crawl up the SERPs before students get back into school and football season starts.
